Molino y Cata is an olive oil shop specializing in Extra Virgin Olive Oil, located next to Granada Cathedral. In addition to our olive oil tastings , we offer experiences designed for those looking to go a step further: discovering how EVOO transforms gastronomy, participating in a unique team activity, or creating a bespoke event.

All our experiences are guided by Mercedes Uceda , an expert in sensory analysis and professor at the University of Jaén, and by Jerónimo Palacios , co-founder of Molino y Cata.

🫒 Extra Virgin Olive Oil Tasting

Our most popular experience. We taste between 4 and 6 oils of different varieties and origins, following the professional methodology of tasting panels. You will learn to distinguish an authentic extra virgin olive oil, recognize varieties, and identify the oil's positive attributes: fruity, bitter, and spicy.

It's the perfect experience for a first introduction to the world of extra virgin olive oil. No prior knowledge is necessary.

🍽️ Pairing with Extra Virgin Olive Oil

If tasting teaches you to understand olive oil, pairing teaches you to enjoy it. This experience combines the tasting of premium extra virgin olive oils with a selection of gourmet products to discover how each oil transforms what it accompanies.

We tried surprising combinations: an intense Picual from Jaén with dark chocolate, a mild Arbequina with aged cheese, a Hojiblanca with artisan preserves, delicate oils with sourdough bread... Each pairing reveals nuances that you wouldn't perceive by tasting the oil alone.

Mercedes explains why certain combinations work and how you can apply these principles in your everyday cooking. It's a complete gastronomic experience that goes far beyond tasting.

🏢 Teambuilding with Olive Oil

A team activity no one expects—and that everyone remembers. Our teambuilding with extra virgin olive oil combines sensory training with participatory activities designed to foster communication, collaboration, and above all, have fun.

The experience includes blind tastings in teams, sensory challenges where you have to identify varieties and origins, and pairing challenges where each group creates its own combinations. No prior knowledge of olive oil is necessary: ​​the learning curve is part of the fun.

It's a unique alternative to traditional corporate activities, ideal for conferences in Granada, company events, incentive trips, team meetings, or training sessions. We adapt to the group size and available time.

Which experience should I choose?

If this is your first time with extra virgin olive oil and you want to learn the basics → Extra virgin olive oil tasting . It's the foundation of everything and will give you the tools to choose oil with discernment.

If you already know the basics or are looking for a more gastronomic experience → Pairing with EVOO. Here, the oil meets other products and you discover another dimension.

If you're coming with a company group or need an activity for an event → Teambuilding. We'll design it to work with your group and your schedule.
